Why it's okay to want to dress like Millie
Reality TV is a complete guilty pleasure of mine, so when Made In Chelsea appeared on my screen in 2011, I was over the moon. Not only did I watch the show for the overly-dramatic break ups, bitchy gossiping and occasionally thrown drink, I loved the clothes. The show's achievement of cult status in the past five years is down to all of these factors and more. For me, the original characters were the best. And one in particular stands out.
Millie Mackintosh started on the show in 2011, before moving on to bigger and better things in 2013. Establishing herself as a fashion and fitness icon, she used the platform of the show to launch a lifestyle brand. Vogue recently compared her to America's Olivia Palermo and it's a fair comparison. Her "savvy" use of social media has meant she has stayed current and up to date with her original fans, as well as gaining so many more who admire her lifestyle. She's become a hugely successful business woman, with a great brand and stunning clothes. Living the life we all wish we did, with instagram posts exhibiting stunning makeup, adorable dogs, beautiful food, her slender body in yoga gym kit...The style is fun yet stylish and sophisticated. Several of the pieces have a kind of boho-chic vibe, with jackets and tops you can imagine Kate Moss doning on a night out/festival.
Her third fashion line launches in the Autumn, and if the latest Spring/Summer line is anything to go by, it should be absolutely stunning. The collection we've chosen are primarily dresses, and this is where we think the strength of the collection really is. With prices generally below £100, and listed on Asos, the pieces are well worth treating yourself to.
